Traveling by Car, Ferry, or Air
Traveling by Car
From Seattle/Tacoma:
- Take I-5 South to Olympia
- Turn West on Highway 8 to Elma, connecting with Highway 12 to Aberdeen
- Then take Highway 101 North to Kalaloch
- Estimated driving time = 3 to 3.5 hours
From Portland, OR:
- Take I-5 North to Centralia
- Follow Highway 12 West to Aberdeen
- Then take Highway 101 North to Kalaloch
- Estimated driving time = 4 hours
From Bellingham, WA and Vancouver, BC:
- Take I-5 South to Burlington
- Follow Highway 20 West to Anacortes through to Whidbey Island and the Keystone-Port Townsend Ferry
- Cross Puget Sound by ferry to Port Townsend
- Follow Highway 101 West through Port Angeles to Forks and onto Kalaloch
- Estimated traveling time = 5 hours
From Victoria, BC:
- From Victoria's Inner Harbour, take the Black Ball Ferry Line - "MV Coho," crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Port Angeles, WA
- Follow Highway 101 West through Forks to Kalaloch
- Estimated traveling time = 3 hours
Traveling by Ferry
Ferry service is available throughout most of the year between Victoria, British Columbia, and Port Angeles. The Coho Ferry offers vehicle and passenger service throughout the year, except for a two-week winter maintenance shutdown. The Washington State Ferry system serves a number of routes across Puget Sound, but does not provide service in or out of Port Angeles.
Traveling by Air
The William R. Fairchild International Airport serves the greater Port Angeles area and is the closest airport to Olympic National Park. Rental cars are also available. You can also fly into Seattle's Sea-Tac Airport and rent a car (Kalaloch Lodge is about a three hour drive).
